may be assumed, I am informed, that the prime cost of the

area required at Yau Tong would not be less than $80,000 as against $32,000 for the Tsun Wan land.

7. As regards the Tsun Wan site I could not advise that this Government should take over the Company's

existing contract. Apart from the fact that it would require fundamental investigation by Government engineers, the expenditure of 400,000 odd dollars on reclamation in this

locality would bring no corresponding advantage to Government, and the Company is being so informed.

8.

The Company is also being informed that there is no objection to their making any investigations at Yau Tong which may be useful to them in this connection.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient, humble servant,

By G.A.S NORTHOOTE

/ Cus. bathica

Governor.
